The Mundt’s have been farming as a partner on the farm since 1996 and took over the operation in 2012. They operate over 900 acres of cropland, pasture and woods; supporting a 220 head dairy herd and 220 young stock.
Conservation has been important on the farm for many years with a grade stabilization pond, contour strips and grassed waterways in place before the Mundt’s took over. They’ve continued and expanded their conservation efforts with extensive hay rotations, rotational grazing, manure and nutrient management, and feedlot runoff management including 3 picket fence and filter strip systems.
The farm has been certified organic since 2005.
The Mundt’s say “The transition to organic was just a natural fit for their farm.”
Congratulations to the Mundt Family!!
